August 2018

Here at UF, we’re delighted to keep our café doors open and continue this wonderful Richmond Summer into August. With the majority of the summer beyond us (where did all that time go?!), August promises to end the season with a flood of festivals, events, and flavors that are sure to leave you with that warm and carefree mentality well into the colder months.

Around our locations, the city is booming with events this month that Richmonders and visitors alike will be scrambling to attend. Starting the eighth of August is the renowned Richmond Jazz Festival, attracting some of the most iconic jazz artists of all time to light up Maymont and work their magic through Saturday the 11th. If Jazz isn’t your thing or if you’ve heard way too much by then, events offer something for everyone around town as both the Carytown Watermelon Festival and the Dragon Boat Festival are held that day! As the season comes to a close at the end of this month, there’s no better time to get outside and grab something fresh to enjoy the last summer tastes. Alternatively, if you are a student getting ready to return to classes, be sure to stop by our cafés for some of our rich coffees from heavy to light for that study boost!

Labor Day Weekend is the final jam after a summer of hits, and it’s a great way to cap off your sunny months with some memorable experiences. Come out to our Rocketts Landing location to grab some snacks and drinks before heading out to the RVA Wake N’ Sun fest on Sunday, September 1st. The festival will feature water sports, half pipes, food/beer trucks, and dozens of vendors and of course, live music!

Our seasonal summer menu features until early September only, so be sure to come by one of our cafés to cool down with items like our Fresh Mint Cucumber Salad or Roasted Red Pepper Hummus Sandwich before they’re gone!
